2. Planning and the Victorian Disability Act 2006

Planning is about people with a disability thinking about what they want to do in their lives and talking to other people about those things.

Under the Disability Act people with a disability must have a support plan.

  • The plan needs to be about the person with a disability.
  • The plan can take into account the person’s family and other important people.
  • The person with a disability should control their own life and plan, with support where it is needed.
